I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! If you baked or made anything you were proud of I want to hear from you so head over to the Biteappy Facebook Page or Twitter and post me your pictures. We all know when it comes to food allergies and intolerances sharing is caring!
Winter is coming and I am so happy because its soup season. There are so many delicious soups you can make which are gluten free, dairy free, vegan and over the next months I will be sharing my favourites with you. I also find making homemade soup is much better than buying it, due to the high sugars they put in readymade soup. This leek and potato soup is famous in our house and we always use our Nana's recipe; the soup is healthy, hearty and delicious. Click over to the blog for the recipe:

As I mentioned last week I will be sharing wonderful products that I have discovered. This week's product comes from Pudology, a lovely brand built by Lucy Wager along with the support of her family. Lucy is dairy and egg intolerant, hence why the Pudology puds are egg free, dairy free suitable for vegan, and as an added extra they are also gluten free. It is such a unique brand and Lucy has made some wonderful products so her success does not surprise me, you always know you have found a good product when you get a friend to try it and they can't believe that is has no gluten or dairy in it.
They are little packed puddings perfect for the home, and great for children especially if you need to send them to parties so they don't feel left out. I also think they are a great idea for restaurants to stock, to give us all a pudding options, which are always very limited. I met Lucy back at the Free From and Allergy Show when I first launched in October 2014 and since then our paths have crossed on numerous occasions; it is always an absolute delight to see her. You can usually find her at shows all around the UK. Like myself she has built a business on a life experience that has stopped her from eating certain foods and because have this has created a fantastic pudding which caters for so many diets. My favourites are the Banoffee and Millionaire's Pud! Check out their website for more details and local stockists.
Restaurant Hangout Of The Week
I recently headed up to see my family in Harrogate, a lovely market down based in North Yorkshire. There are so many lovely restaurants and because it is my birth town I do visit quite regulary so I will keep you up to date with my top hangout. We decided to go to Gianni's Brio, a local Italian on the Kings Road. Staff are so friendly and really clued up on allergies and intolerances so much so they will pretty much cook for you whatever you like! They have amazing gluten free pasta and after speaking to the chef he has tried many out and found the perfect gluten free pasta and I have to say I do agree with his choice really soft and delicious. They also do wonderful gluten free pizza bases, dairy free gelato and various vegetarian options and they are more than happy to cater for vegans. If you are ever in Harrogate you must pop in! They do takeaway and I took my pizza home in a box there was no way I was leaving it!
Top Tip of the Week
If I am baking a cake I always tend to use Dove's Self Raising Flour over Plain even if it says plain in the recipe as I find I get a better rise!
I am very excited to be heading off to Vienna in Austria this week where I will be checking out what they have to offer in terms of gluten free, dairy free, vegan options and anything else I can find. I will be will be sharing my finds with you so make sure you check out my column next week! Until next time... Caroline xo
