Asda’s Vegan Cheddar is being hailed as the “best ever” vegan cheese by enthusiasts who can’t believe it’s dairy free.
The supermarket has been inundated with comments on social media from people who have tried and loved the product, and others who can’t wait to get their hands on it.
Fully accredited by the Vegan Society, Asda’s Vegan Cheddar is priced at just £2.00 and is perfect for melting, slicing and grating. It joins an already extensive range of vegan friendly food options available from the retailer and is the cheapest supermarket own label offering.
James Waters, Asda’s Cheese Product Development Manager, comments: “Customers have taken to social media in droves to share their sheer delight at us selling the new vegan cheddar, with some even sending us their own recipes and meal creations.
“We’re committed to creating products that everyone can enjoy without compromising on taste, which is exactly why we’ve launched this vegan-friendly version of one of the nation’s favourite foods. Whether you have a dairy intolerance, or you follow a plant-based diet, Asda’s Vegan Cheese is perfect for those who want to enjoy great value, quality and tasty cheese. After all, who doesn’t love a good old cheese sandwich?”
Since launch, the product has built up a strong following online, with some customers stating it is their family’s favourite ‘cheese’ and others claiming they’d almost given up on finding a decent vegan cheese until now.
James continues, “It’s customer feedback like this that drives us to continuously innovate and develop our range.”
