Before the New Year came around, we got the opportunity to put some questions to current WWE Diva, former WWE Diva's Champion and member of the legendary Hart Family, Natalya about the upcoming series of Total Divas here in the UK, her hopes for the Diva's division in the future and much more.
What should fans of Total Divas in the UK expect from the third season?
The UK can expect another outrageous season from myself and the rest of the Total Divas. Plus, Rosa Mendes joins the cast and I have a lot of involvement with her; but I don't want to give any spoilers.
Did you ever expect to get this far with the show when starting out all the way back with season one?
I honestly don't think anyone thought that Total Divas would be as successful as it has been. Initially the show was only supposed to be for eight episodes but now we're about to begin Season 4 in the US.
What's the experience been like so far of sharing your personal and real-life with fans?
Total Divas has been an incredible experience for me; both personally and professionally. I love being in the ring and doing the show has been fantastic; I'm just having the time of my life.
In Total Divas we can see a bit of bad blood forming between yourself and Summer Rae; can we expect this to continue in the upcoming season?
People ask me more about her than anyone else. Both of us pulled each other's tails so to say. The problem we have between each other is completely personal and you're just going to have to watch and see what happens. I actually enjoy competing with her in the ring, but we do have some issues that you'll see on the new season.
You come from a legendary family and your wrestling skills are fantastic, when can we expect to see you gunning for gold next?
There's really not a day that goes by that I don't think about wrestling. I basically grew up in the business; it's in my blood. I started when I was 18 and I never looked back. As for the Divas Championship, that's always on my mind and that's obviously the ultimate goal for me and for any of the Divas. I've held the title in the past and as soon as I get an opportunity, I'm not going to waste it.
We saw you at the end of 2014 pin Charlotte of the Flair family on Raw, do you think she'd make a good addition to the main Divas roster?
Charlotte is a great competitor and I think we'll be seeing her on the main roster sooner than later. Even before the match we just had on Raw, we had a match in NXT which some people are calling the match of the year.
In the past we've seen a big change in the Diva's division with Extreme Rules or Hardcore matches - for example Trish and Victoria - do you think that anything like this will happen again in the present day?
I absolutely think so. It was only a few years ago (WWE TLC 2010) where Beth Phoenix and I had a tag team Tables Match against Michelle McCool and Layla (LayCool) and I went crashing through a pink table to give Beth and myself the win.
Recently we've seen a celebration of the 10 year anniversary of Trish Stratus' and Lita's main event match on Raw, do you think a Diva's match like this could ever headline the show again, and who would you consider worthy alongside yourself for that?
I think the Divas' division is making great strides; just look at the success of Total Divas. We have great athletes and some young up-and-coming Divas who are hungry and want to prove that the Divas can be just as good as the Superstars. I personally loved the Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon feud and they had some great moments a few months back. I would love to work with Stephanie and as I mentioned my previous matches with Charlotte, I think we could put on a great main event for Raw.
People refer to Tyson Kidd as 'Nattie's Husband', and we've seen in your current storyline he seems to be overshadowing your wins a little bit, what should we expect from this going forward?
I think Tyson is releasing his inner Owen Hart with his over the top celebrations. I do think the "Nattie's husband" comments bother him a bit and he doesn't like being overlooked.
What should we expect from you going forward?
Besides more great episodes of Total Divas, you can expect me to keep kicking butt in the ring and the Divas' Championship is top on my 2015 to do list.
