Following the brilliant premiere last week (December 26th, 2020) that saw Sophie Ellis-Bextor as the first famous face to take off her Alien mask, the second series of Britain’s The Masked Singer continues, with six all-new unknown celebrities taking to the stage in an array of eye-catching costumes!
Before taking a look at this week’s bunch of mystery celebs however, how about we give you our first impressions and guesses of the week before?
Robin: Immediately giving off a vibe of Essex, somebody like Mark Wright or Joey Essex sprang to mind. Then came the clues about boxing and getting in the squared circle, along with ‘flying without wings’, and we were left all in a spin! The singing voice sounded a little like Peter Andre, but for now I’m going to stick with my initial guess: Robin is Mark Wright. He had a boxing match during his time in The Only Way is Essex against Kirk Norcross, knocking him out to claim the victory.
Swan: This female performer sounds like a trained singer and whilst they had an American accent whenever speaking, could they be putting it on? Their tone sounds a lot like former Girls Aloud member Cheryl; could she be following in the footsteps of fellow group member Nicola Roberts and be vying for the crown?
Dragon: Now this performer I really do believe is an American woman! They’re sweet and sassy, short and absolutely adorable. There weren’t too many clues I picked up on in the video package, but I’m gonna say that Rosie O’Donnell fits the bill here!
Sausage: Self-described as a “silly sausage”, loads of famous female celebrities instantly sprung to mind. Paloma Faith, Stacey Dooley, Sheridan Smith and Beverley Knight are all in the mix here. One of the strongest suggestions I’ve seen however, is Joss Stone.
Badger: They’re adept at keeping hidden and know how to look after themselves. They’ve got quite a thick accent that seems to come from the South, so I’m going with SAS hardman, Ant Middleton.
Now, onto week two…
We’ve got six incredible costumes to watch perform on tonight’s (January 2nd, 2021) episode, and you can get your first glimpse at each of them below! No word yet on what they’ll be performing or any clues as to their identity, so for now, you’ll simply have to judge off of these pictures!
