Wentworth Prison - Season 2 (No confirmed date - Channel 5)

After a stellar first season, this Australian Prisoner reboot managed to make headlines for all the right reasons and was sharply snapped up for a second offering. The acting is top-notch and whilst we stick to some of the original storylines from the older series, there are also new avenues to be explored and it makes for exhiliarating viewing.

The Killing - Season 4 - August 1 (Netflix)

Coming to an end with its fourth and final season on Netflix, The Killing is a show that keeps you on the edge of your seat and stepping into the shoes of Detective yourself as you do your best to piece together clues and figure out who is behind the horrific crimes that play out. This season sees Joan Allen step into the guest-role of Colonel Margaret Rayne, and she doesn't seem to be one you'd like to cross!

The Great British Bake Off - Season 5 - August 6 (BBC One)

Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood are back to judge another group of bakers with hosts Mel and Sue, as the best of British come together to compete for the title of Great British Bake Off champion. Who'll fly high, and who'll land up with a soggy bottom?

Resurrection - Season 1 - August 18 (Watch)

Based on the book The Returned, Resurrection follows residents of Missouri whose lives are changed completely when their loved ones return from the dead. It's a fantastic look at how families react to the people they've mourned for making a comeback into their lives, and things obviously don't go as smoothly as some of the characters would like.

Doctor Who - Season 8 - August 23 (BBC One)

Does this show really need any explanation anymore? Peter Capaldi steps into the shoes of the Time Lord following on from Matt Smith, and those fans who dodged the leaked episodes and scripts will be able to enjoy a brand new series of one of the arguably greatest shows on the planet.
