'Wentworth Prison' is currently showing on Channel 5, and has done a great job in filling the hole left by shows such as 'Oz' and 'Bad Girls' many moons ago.
The series - which is a remake of 'Prisoner: Cell Block H' - follows a group of women in a modern-day Australian prison who have all been locked up for various crimes.
Latest inmate Bea Smith - portrayed by the incredible Danielle Cormack - is forced to learn the mechanics of the prison, not just by following the rules of the prison wardens, but also working her way into the foundations and relationships formed between the prisoners themselves.
Being separated from her daughter has a major impact on Bea, but she soon picks up that she's going to have to work to survive if she's ever going to leave the compound in one piece.
Standout performances come from Nicole da Silva as Franky
Doyle, Kris McQuade as the extremely creepy Jacs Holt and Celia Ireland as Liz Birdsworth.
Just four episodes are left, but a second season has already been confirmed, which we can expect next year along with the revival of one of the most infamous characters in 'Prisoner' history - Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson.
'Wentworth Prison' airs Wednesdays, 10pm on Channel 5.
