A teaser clip for the seventh and final season of True Blood has been released by HBO.

It seems as if the rest of the world are shutting off Bon Temps after some sort of attack at the church, and the residents aren't at all happy.

"How could this be happening in this country, in this day and age? That our government would leave us for dead?" mutters Sookie, over a montage of violence and citizens loading guns to protect themselves at any cost.

"Now the good folks of this town are turning on each other, acting like animals." she continues.

The teaser ends with the final words "There's no one left.", as Sam, Jason, Sookie, Alcide and Andy look out over their once peaceful town.

Not seen in this teaser is Alexander Skarsgard in the role of Eric Northman, so it will be interesting to see if he did survive following the clip of him burning at the end of season six.

True Blood's final season begins on June 22 at 9pm on HBO in the USA.
