Stepping into a brand new role on Falling Skies, Treva Etienne spoke to FemaleFirst about filming the fourth season of the hit series, being welcomed onto the set by the actors who have made it their home already and more in an exclusive interview.
What drew you to the role of Dingaan Botha?
I liked the mystery of him.
Can you tell us a little bit about the character and what's in store for him in Falling Skies?
Dingaan will be very involved with the 2nd Mass group of resistance fighters as they battle for a better world.
You're joining the cast of the show in its fourth season, how was integrating yourself with the regulars who've been there the whole time?
I found it really easy as I was warmly welcomed into the 2nd Mass Family by the very talented cast and crew.
How was the experience of filming and chemistry on-set?
I found the experience of filming exhilarating, and working with the chemistry of the amazing actors and the wonderful crew were inspiring.
You've got vast credits in both TV and film, how do the two worlds of acting compare?
The TV world is so close now to the Movie world, in terms of the ambition of what is possible with the technology of storytelling, that I think now it's just the type of project that creates comparison.
What would you note as some of your career highlights to-date?
Working with the amazing Maya Angelou on stage, playing Macbeth at the UK National Theatre with Sir Peter Gill, Eyes Wide Shut, Black Hawk Down, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys 2, Terminator Salvation and Falling Skies.
Who would you love to work with going forward?
I would love to work with movie directors Steven Spielberg, Alfonso Cuaron, Christopher Nolan and Steve McQueen.
Do you have a definitive aim for your acting career?
Just to keep getting good roles and doing good work.
Could you ever see yourself doing anything else?
Not really, but perhaps writing or teaching.
Are there any other projects in the works you can share some details about?
Nothing I can confirm as yet.
Falling Skies season 4 premieres in the UK on July 15 on FOX.
