The Voice UK was a tense affair last night on ITV, as the eight semi-finalists were cut down to just four for next weekend’s finale. But who made it through and will sing for that Polydor record deal, and who just missed out on a slot in the final show of the season? Here are this year’s four Voice UK finalists…
Jamie Miller – Team JHud
Jamie Miller is your typical teen singer, with a bit of an edge. He’s got the look of a popstar and we could certainly see ourselves bopping along to his songs if he finds his way onto the UK charts in the future. Quitting his job in a call centre to follow his dreams of becoming the UK’s next big singing sensation, we think that even if he doesn’t win the show next week, he’ll go onto big things in the industry.
Michelle John – Team Will
Michelle John gave her winner’s performance this weekend, so let’s hope she can pull it out of the bag again when she takes to the stage next week. With one heck of a powerful voice, Michelle has up to this point served as a backing singer for some of the biggest names in the industry. Now she’s ready to step into the spotlight and become the star she’s wanted to be for so long. Telling her son to ‘always go for his dreams and not make the same mistakes’ she made, she’s made of the right stuff if she wants to succeed in this business.
Mo Adeniran – Team JHud
Mo has had one of the most emotional journeys that a contestant on The Voice UK has ever gone through. Following last week’s result which saw Jennifer Hudson save him from being eliminated, he broke down crying backstage, but came back with a vengeance on last night’s show when he performed a gorgeous rendition of Rag’n’Bone Man hit, ‘Human’. As one of the most consistent performers on the series, Mo could be an incredible choice for winner if the public rally behind him.
Into The Ark – Team Tom
Having been the only act to include more than one person, this Welsh duo – made up of Dane Lloyd and Taylor Jones - are proving exactly why they’ve already seen such success in the past. Now they’re hoping they can go the whole hog and snatch the Polydor Record Deal up for grabs, which would surely lead to them taking the UK by storm more than ever before. Could they go from busking on the streets of Australia to performing on some of the biggest stages the world has to offer?
---
This means that next week, Gavin Rossdale is the only mentor to have no acts in the final. Though it’s a sad turn of events for his acts, it does mean that he’ll be the only impartial coach next week, so he should be able to give some great critiques to the four left.
