The past few months have seen some successful, and not so successful reality shows created for celebrities to go and explore the corners of the world and immerse themselves in cultures they wouldn't have previously had the chance to.
An Idiot Abroad was one of the first truly unique travel experience shows, where Karl Pilkington would be sent to different countries by friends Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who set him challenges whilst he was on location such as swimming with sharks and climbing Mount Fuji.
It quickly became one of the most-loved shows on television and shot Karl into levels of superstardoms, with spin-off books and further shows being created.
Now there's been a surge of others wanting to give travelling a go with some interesting results.
The Charlotte Crosby Experience
The TLC exclusive series was a fantastic watch as Charlotte brought her very own sense of humour to India, Japan, the Inuits and the Hutterites.
There was tantrums, tears, drama but a lot of learning for the Geordie lass and it would be a crime if a second season of the show wasn't commissioned.
Educating Joey Essex
As a one-off special, Joey went to the world famous Kruger National Park in the wilds of South Africa, and his hilarious antics earned him the commissioning of a whole series.
In the next episode we'll see him visit Brazil ahead of the World Cup, where he has to come to terms with not looking as preened and pampered as he usually would before.
Party Wright Around The World
Mark's show was a bit hit and miss. He became a party creator who wanted to bring the best of Essex and combine it with the cultures of the places he visited, and whilst he's utterly charming and did the best he could at every point, the show did fall a bit flat at places.
However, it was completely worth it to see him taken out of his comfort zone and dress in drag for a Miami bash like no other.
Tom Daley Goes Global
The fact that we only got one series of Tom Daley's show (alongside friend Sophie) speaks volumes. He's a lovely guy willing to give anything a go, but audiences felt like we were simply watching someone better off than us enjoy a holiday, and that's not the winning formula to get people on your side.
We needed to see a little more action, drama and dare I say it, humiliation. We all love seeing those in the spotlight come down a level or two, but that just wasn't on offer here.
