Tristan Gemmill thinks viewers were "unfair" to criticise Sarah Harding's acting on 'Coronation Street'.
The former 'Casualty' star - who plays Tracy Barlow's latest lover Robert Preston - thinks the criticism his on-screen wife and former Girls Aloud singer received wasn't deserved as he thought she did a "good job" on the show.
He shared: "I got on very well with Sarah and found her delightful to work with - and I thought the criticism about her was unfair.
"She had a lot of emotion to get into a very short space of time, and I thought she made a good job of it."
The 33-year-old blonde beauty was axed from the ITV soap after just four episodes.
Meanwhile, the handsome actor also revealed he was recently stopped in the street by a woman who said he looked like a Robert Preston lookalike.
He explained to The Sun newspaper: "I got stopped in our village the other day.
"This lady came up to me and said, in a deep West Country accent, 'I don't know if you know, but there's a man on 'Coronation Street' that looks exactly like you.
"You could be a lookalike for him. There's lots of money in that - you should look into it'.
"I said, 'Thank you very much, I will go and watch 'Coronation Street' and look!'
"And she walked away thinking she had given me some sound financial advice."
