Coronation Street's Steve McDonald is going to blame himself for a dramatic mini-bus crash after he's diagnosed with depression.
In such a "dark place" he'll be forced to take responsiblity for the crash caused by two boy racers, and one resident of the Street will be left fighting for their life.
Simon Gregson spoke about the aftermath of the crash and explained: "He feels terrible but again rather than arguing that it wasn't his fault, it was the idiots in the car, he hasn't got it in him to fight back and so he just takes it.
"He is in such a dark place he think everything is his fault anyway now he has something to take responsibility for, something major he is blaming himself for."
However he admits it could bring him and Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) closer together, as he confesses what he's been going through.
"It starts with the fact that he walked away from everybody [in the accident] but then he blurts out that he has been diagnosed as having depression and that he has been feeling bad for a long time.
"She is very upset about it. Her thoughts change and she realises it wasn't her and this is the turning point for them to start rebuilding their relationship."
Meanwhile, Stuart Blackburn - the show's producer - has revealed that the crash is to be a catalyst for a number of explosive and dramatic storylines.
"Everyone involved in filming these dramatic episodes is very proud of the end results. The stunt is breathtaking and is real edge of the seat stuff.
"But, in the spirit of great storytelling, the crash itself is just the start of the drama and will have far reaching effects for all the people involved in the coming months."
