Coronation Street newbie Shayne Ward has admitted that his role on the soap is bigger than he'd first expected.
Announced as new regular character Aidan Connor back in May, it was revealed he'd come onto the cobbles as a distant cousin of fan favourite character Michelle (Kym Marsh).
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Ward said: "I am looking forward to August when my first scene is aired. I'm going to focus on this role and bring Aidan to life."
He continued: "I didn't realise how large this role was, storyline-wise. There is a lot going on without a doubt.
"I am going to work hard, especially with the role I have been given and the storylines, whcih are much bigger than I expected."
However, just because Shayne's now acting doesn't mean he's left his music career behind.
The singer premiered the music video for new single 'The Way You Were' in June, amassing over 150,000 YouTube views to-date.
