Leon Lopez has joined 'EastEnders'.
The 36-year-old actor - who is known for playing Jerome Johnson in 'Brookside' between 1999 and 2002 - is set to cause a stir next week when he rocks up in Walford as the foster brother of Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood).
Speaking to the Digital Spy, he said of his new role on the soap: "I'm so excited to be working on 'EastEnders' and still can't believe it! It really is a dream come true."
Although some people won't be best pleased to see a newbie on the Square, it seems Linford's arrival has come just at the right time as he manages to stop his busybody foster mother Claudette Hubbard (Ellen Thomas) locking horns with her daughter-in-law Kim (Tameka Empson).
The strong-willed women come to blows yet again over little Pearl's first birthday party when they both have different ideas on how the festivities should go off.
But Claudette will soon be stopped in her tracks when Linford surprises her with a visit but, although she's delighted to see him, she can't help but doubt why he's decided to show up.
And it seems her suspicions prove to be correct as the hunk later comes clean about what really brought him to Walford.
Meanwhile, Leon's latest gig is only supposed to be a short guest role but his future on 'EastEnders' is yet to be revealed.
