John Altman has teased a "pretty evil" EastEnders storyline that involves his returned 'original bad boy' character Nick Cotton.
The actor's appeared on-and-off in the soap since back in 1985, and has hinted at more horrid behaviour from his criminal character dubbed Nasty Nick.
A previous storyline has seen him try to poison his on-screen mother Dot Cotton (June Brown) and suggested that his upcoming plot is to be equally as awful.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz he explained: "He's going to be just as nasty [as the plot to kill Dot]. It's pretty evil, pretty awful. A bit of a shocker but I can't say what it is."
Now that he's back, John says he has a hectic schedule ahead because of the plot in which he's involved.
"They offered me a pretty big storyline. I didn't think it would make any difference going back one more time in terms of being typecast."
Upon rejoining John noticed how much the show's evolved since his original casting, almost three decades ago.
"It's so much bigger. It's a huge operation. It's hard work and it takes over your life when you've got a big storyline."
Meanwhile, Altman has released a Christmas single, a festive rendition of Iggy Pop's 'Real Wild Child (Wild One)', with all-girl rock band JOANovARC.
The single is out now and can be downloaded from iTunes.
