Jane Danson has admitted she'd love for her on-screen mother, played by Vicky Entwistle to make a Coronation Street return.

Starring now as Leanne in the ITV soap for nearly 20 years, she's said she'd love if the rumours surrounding Janice Battersby's return to the Street were true.

Speaking at the TVChoice Awards earlier this week, Jane said: "I love that rumour. Obviously I would always champion any Battersby coming back.

"Not only because we're all amazing characters, but we all want to do something really special together. I do like those rumours, but how true they are, I don't know."

She also addressed her love for her character's flaws, and inability to escape her past.

"Yeah, I quite like that. She's a victim of the past and it's something Corrie revisits, and I like that side of her character.

"I like the fact that she was a wayward child. Just when things are going right for her, they always go wrong. I like that character change."
