Leaving the village to rekindle life with his ex-wife Hilary, it was only a matter of time before Doug Potts returned to Emmerdale to visit his daughter Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy).
Duncan Preston has now been confirmed to appear back in the soap from September 9 as a regular character, and he's very happy to be back.

What does lie ahead for his character is yet to be seen, but Landlady Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) is intrigued by his re-emergence, and old feelings for the close friends coule stir up.
Doug also has a new way of earning cash - could this lead to Diane seeing him in a new light?
