Jake Wood wasn't "completely convinced" by his latest 'EastEnders' storyline.
The 43-year-old actor's character Max Branning was seen escaping from the court room after he was falsely found guilty of murdering Lucy Beale in last night's (28.09.15) episode and he's now confessed he was sceptical when he first read the script.
He said: "Sometimes you get scripts and you're not completely convinced by them. It seemed a little bit far fetched but apparently it's happened a few times in real life, people have jumped over the barriers and done a runner and it's our job to make it look real and I saw the end of it last night and I thought it looked great."
Jake also revealed Max could remain on the run until he returns from his 13 month break from the soap.
He told ITV's 'This Morning': "Max has done a runner, tonight we'll find out what's happened. This week is my last week on screen ... Obviously they're going to work out my break into the story so Max is either on the run or gets recaptured, we don't know, we find out this week, so it will be interesting to see what plays out."
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' hunk is now looking forward to spending some quality time with his wife Alison and their two children, Amber and Buster.
Asked why he'd decided to take a break from 'EastEnders', Jake added: "I've been there for nine years, done just under a thousand episodes ... I've got two small children at home so it'll be nice to reacquaint myself with the family. It felt the right time to take a break."
