Coronation Street fans can now walk in the footsteps of their favourite stars down the country's most famous cobbled street.
'It's not what I expected, it's more!'
As Weatherfield welcomes its first visitors, fans are set to flock to the Quay Street studios in Manchester city centre to catch a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes.
Over 1,500 eager visitors travelled to the set this weekend as the first group of fans venture down the cobbles as Coronation Street The Tour opened it's doors.
Gemma Hall was a visitor on the first tour, she said: 'This has been an amazing experience. I have just walked the same path of some of the most famous Coronation Street characters starting in the Green Room, going into wardrobe, into the sets and then onto the street itself. Just incredible!'
The tour gives fans an insight into the shows history and how it gained its treasured place in the nation's heart.
Sheena Murray, another excited visitor said: 'It was like walking through a time warp as we saw footage from the very first episodes, Hilda Ogden's curlers and Ena Sharples' hair net. The sets were amazing it felt like I had actually stepped into the Rovers Return and I even got to go behind the bar!'
The cast and crew of Coronation Street finished filming at the Quay Street studios in December, after 53 years of production, to move to their new home on Salford Quays. But now this hidden world of soap land is now open, Colin and Rosemarie Lowe said: 'It's not what I expected, it's more! The inside sets were the best part as they have never been seen before. It was brilliant, well worth coming.'
