Brooke Vincent is set to take a break from 'Coronation Street' next year in order to star in a theatre production.
The 23-year-old actress, who portrays loveable lesbian Sophie Webster in the ITV soap, is planning to step away from the Cobbles for eight weeks next summer in order to play a pregnant mother in a UK on-stage production.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Brooke was approached to do live theatre and she asked 'Corrie' bosses if she could take some time off next year.
"She is just waiting for confirmed dates but the Corrie bosses have been very accommodating.
"There is never an issue so long as they are given enough notice so they don't have to re-write scripts."
The insider added: "It will be Brooke's first experience of live theatre and bosses are very keen for her to have that."
However, despite plans to expand her acting portfolio, Brooke is adamant she has no intention of quitting the soap.
The family friend added: "She is contracted until next summer but has absolutely no intention of leaving the soap."
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty won't be the first 'Coronation Street' star to venture into live performance as David Neilson, 65, who portrays cafe owner Roy Cropper, has also reportedly asked for three months off to perform on stage.
