And to top it off, I play a mechanic too. The irony is devastating.
James Sutton is looking forward to kissing girls on 'Emmerdale' because he won't get stubble rash.
The actor - who plays mechanic Ryan Lamb in the ITV soap - admits he is expecting his romantic scenes to be radically different to those he filmed as gay student John Paul McQueen in 'Hollyoaks'.
He said: "I must say I'm looking forward to a romance with a girl in 'Emmerdale' as my 'Hollyoaks' character was gay. I did a lot of kissing boys and got a lot of stubble rash.
"My 'Emmerdale' character falls for Katie Sugden (Sammy Wynward) and you'll be pleased to know she's stubble free so I won't be going home with any rashes this time."
While he is excited about romantic scenes, the 26-year-old hunk admits he is least looking forward to being filmed behind the wheel of a car as he can't drive.
He explained to Celebs on Sunday magazine: "I don't drive so every time my character has a scene where he has to drive, the entire art department has to push the car along while I pretend.
"The most they'll allow me to do is pull up the hand brake for insurance reasons. It's humiliating and I feel completely demasculated.
"And to top it off, I play a mechanic too. The irony is devastating."
