Oliver, Rebecca and Paul are horrified to learn that Declan has been kidnapped. Paul’s desperate to involve the police but Oliver wants to play by the kidnapper’s rules. Paul gets his chance when Adam unexpectedly calls in to tell them Declan is no longer a suspect of the hit and run. But Paul gives into Rebecca’s silent pleas, which only sparks curiosity in vigilant Adam. Declan realises the dire situation he has unwittingly landed himself in when Nick keeps him captive in the hotel room. Laura is ill-prepared when Paul (working on a hunch) busts their kidnapping scam. Panicked, she knocks Paul out, who later wakes to find that Nick, Laura and Declan have vanished.Susan is processed at the police station, and the enormity of her situation sinks in. Karl has to tell the kids what has happened, and they insist on supporting Susan by coming to pick her up when she is released. She hopes the project will expand her fruit business and provide a secure future for her unborn child. Valda couldn’t be happier with her new recruit, but wary Harold hopes that she knows what she’s getting her friends into.
