Amid the threatening notes shes been receiving, Rachel continues to find Roman a welcome distraction from her fears for as long as theyre in each others company; when shes on her own, its quite a different story. While she is embarrassed at being so jumpy when her new friend pays her a visit to thank her for her help treating an injury at the diner, it soon becomes apparent that she has good reason to be afraid: even if the culprit manages to remain undetected when a concerned Roman offers to take a look outside, its clear that theres someone staking out her apartment. Later that night, having lined up a lift home after a long and difficult shift at the hospital, things take a dramatic turn when Rachel is escorted to her front door and suddenly attacked by her companion. I didnt want to do this. You gave me no choice, Reverend Hall says, forcing her inside.Back for secondsAs she shuts up shop for the night, Belle is horrified when Dom stumbles into the diner begging for her help; hes been hiding out in the fishing shack since the hit and run, and having failed to seek medical help, his condition has only worsened. Finding her conscience, Belle rushes him to hospital and leaves him in Rachels care while she goes to tell a remarkably unbothered Drew the news. Little does he know just how serious things are about to get. Doms internal injuries are so severe that theres a possibility he may lose a kidney, and unless Belles there to support him, hes perfectly prepared to reveal to the police just how it happened. Rather than keep his head down, Drew decides to pay his old friend a visit to give him a piece of his mind; as things get heated, Dom ends up going into shock and being rushed for emergency surgery. Will he survive?Got MILCO?
Coming back from an early-morning surf, Roman sees a homeless man searching through the bins for something to eat. To Irene's chagrin she is, after all, desperate to find as many reasons as she can not to like Leahs potential replacement Roman tells the man, Miles Copeland, to meet him behind the diner if he wants to get his hands on a decent meal.
Although a repeat of this act of kindness is made impossible when Irene complains about the vagrant taking up residence outside her premises, Miles is nevertheless grateful for Romans help and asks for one final favour: he wants to know the address of a Sally Fletcher. Information in hand, from atop the sand dunes Miles later watches Pippa and Sally playing at the water's edge; without any contact between them, he scrawls the word MILCO the name of Sallys childhood imaginary friend into the sand. Whats the connection between the pair?
