A shocked Cassie checks on her passengers and is relieved to find that most have escaped without harm – everyone but Aden, that is. She soon finds herself faced with not only the prospect of a revoked licence for driving while under the influence of alcohol but also having to deal with the guilt of Aden’s extensive injuries. Worse still, her whole story is thrown into question when a blood test shows traces of marijuana in her system – something she fails to be able to explain – and the discovery of a wallet in the car leads the police to the extra passengers. With the full facts now at her disposal, Fitz is finally able to deliver the verdict: ‘I’m sorry, Cassie, but as the driver of that vehicle, we are charging you with negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.’Feast your eyesMeanwhile, Leah finds herself a potential buyer for her share of the business in the form of hot newcomer Roman Harris. While Irene claims not to be won over by his charm and good looks – and, given the fact of him currently living out of the back of a van, remains suspicious as to whether or not he’ll even be able to put his money where his mouth is – his spending a day in the diner kitchen cooking up a storm may just be enough to convince her otherwise. So even if she does insist that she’s looking for more than a good cook in her new business partner, don’t be surprised if the next person to be sporting an apron and a friendly smile to the regulars is a little different from the diner’s current staff. We’re sure that Rachel, for one, will be delighted; after visiting the much loved hangout only for a serving of criticisms à la Colleen – ‘Those night shifts can wreak havoc on a girl’s complexion,’ she says – some hot new talent may well make for a refreshing change.
