Belle having mysteriously disappeared while at the petrol station, Drew is left to wonder whether their latest argument may be to blame and returns to the scene of the breakdown in the hope of finding her there. Little does he suspect that Dom – recently released from prison – has tied poor Belle up, locked her in his car boot and driven her out to a remote lakeside fishing shack, where he aims to hold her hostage until she admits to him that his feelings for her aren’t unrequited. ‘Are you trying to tell me, in all that time, you didn’t think about me?’ he asks, before trying to calm her nerves by pointing out how he’s managed to fill her new lodgings with all her favourite things. Spotting an opportunity, she feigns enthusiasm and offers to put on one of the CDs he brought. It’s then that she makes her move, secretly reclaiming her mobile to send a text to Drew. But it’s not long before Dom becomes wise to her plan and begins to lose all patience…Hit and runIt’s just as Irene and Leah are gossiping about Dan’s exciting new career opportunity that Drew comes bursting into the diner looking to borrow a phone charger to check his messages – which include a strange, half-written text from Belle, identifying Dom as her captor.Hoping that Dom’s uncle Ray might be able to help shed some light on their whereabouts, Drew invites him to the diner, but tempers fray when he’s stonewalled as soon as he asks for tips about likely haunts. After a heated argument over the earlier stolen parts racket, which Drew knows can’t have been masterminded by Dom alone, Ray finally offers up some information: he and his nephew used to frequent a particular lakeside cabin when they went fishing together.

Drew immediately makes his way there and, unbeknownst to him, arrives just in time to break Belle away from another kiss with Dom – who’s so certain that it will put her back in touch with what he terms ‘that chemistry’ they have that he’s even agreed to let her leave if she feels differently afterwards.

But there’s yet another shock in store. As Drew makes his hurried getaway with Belle, he accidentally hits Dom with his car; by the time Belle’s convinced him to drive back to the scene, her captor’s gone – leaving nothing but a pool of blood in his place.
