In the wake of her latest discovery, Morag calls a meeting with Dane, Jazz, Belle and Drew to pass on her findings. ‘Why don’t you tell us what you were doing yesterday after the mediation?’ she begins, as all eyes turn to a shifty Jazz. But while the self-styled temptress may be able to cover her shock by passing off her rendezvous with Ted as her taking her chance to say thank you (in her own special way, of course), there’s very little she can do to hide the fact of her having hired him as an impostor; Morag’s dirt-digging skills have led to her finding out that Jazz’s mum was never even diagnosed, let alone treated, for dementia. And so it is that it’s not just Jazz’s claim to the estate that’s reached a dead end; her already strained relationship with Drew has also reached the point of no return, as becomes only too clear when she later turns up on his doorstep begging for another chance. ‘You used sex to get what you wanted,’ he snaps, forcing her to back off – but not before she’s delivered him with a slap for coming dangerously close to overstepping the mark.Running for coverAfter her break from the Bay, Martha is shocked to return to find not only that Jonah’s still in town but also that he seems to have befriended the ever-naïve Annie. Taking this all as a sign that he’s planning to start up the cult again, Martha goes to Irene; together they decide to mount a campaign to warn everyone about his murky past. From organising a town meeting to involving the press, they’re ready to cover all bases – even if their full-page ad in the local rag does, as Sally points out, seem a little slanderous. But the following day, as concerned residents start to arrive at the Surf Club to find out more, Irene is stunned to spot an unexpected face among the crowd. ‘I won’t have my employees’ names dragged through the mud,’ Bruce snarls, making a typically grand entrance. His warning that, unless the meeting is called off, he’ll remove Annie from Irene’s care is enough to see his wish granted – but it does little to stop Martha taking matters into her own hands. She heads out to the farm and starts spraying graffiti across Jonah’s car – only to have him catch her in the act and send her running for cover. Ignoring his warnings, as well as a rickety ‘Keep Out’ sign, the chase leads Martha into a disused mineshaft. Moments later the entrance collapses – and, Jonah having followed her in, sees her about to face her worst nightmare
