If, after the cliff-hanger of the previous episode, you were expecting an instant reunion between Kim and Kit, you'd be sadly mistaken. There's just a little more to tease you with first. You see, when Kim turns up on Kit's doorstep, she's reluctant to welcome him with open arms but, then again, perhaps this is partly explained by the reason he gives for his being there: "I had nowhere else to go." It's not the best opener but, nevertheless, Kit relents and allows Kim to stay, even providing a shoulder for him to cry on and a bed for him to sleep in her bed, no less. (Before you get any ideas, we don't mean the kind of "sleeping" Hugh did with Rachel.) The next morning, Kit heads off for a couple of job interviews, leaving Archie with Kim. But she's in for a surprise when she returns. Kim's packed up all her belongings after provoking the Landlord into evicting her. "You had your chance to make us a family, and you blew it. You don't want me," says an exasperated Kit, before locking herself in the bathroom and breaking down in tears. It's enough to prompt Kim to do so some serious soul searching "at last!" we hear you cry and to decide that it's a life with Kit and Archie that he really wants. The happy family make their way make to Summer Bay to pick up their belongings and so that Kim can break the news to Rachel although, ultimately, he doesn't need to. Poor Rach sees them arrive together and knows she's lost Kim for good. After some emotional goodbyes, and as a heartbroken Rachel can only look on, Kit and Kim take one last stroll along the beach before leaving Summer Bay for a new life together...

Alf isn't dealing very well without his driving licence and isn't keen to visit a doctor for an official diagnosis for his eyesight problem. When he does, the results are inconclusive and he's less than impressed with the "quack" for wasting his time.
A side effect of Alf's problem, other than his ever-shortening temper, is that he now has to agree to an extra pair of hands helping out at the Surf Club.
Enter Cassie, who's desperate for the chance to earn some money so that she can save up for university. But although Martha's more than happy to offer her a job as a trainee barmaid, Sally's locked into headmistress mode and can't help but worry about how the added pressure will affect Cassie's studies.
As a compromise, Martha talks Sally into letting Cassie complete a two-week trial but with Sally likely to be watching her like a hawk, can it really work?
