It’s the day of Bruce’s funeral, and against Geoff’s advice Jonah – or Michael, as the Bay’s residents are now calling him – decides to turn up to the service to pay his respects. Unfortunately, no sooner has he arrived than Reverend Hall lays into him for his past connection with The Believers, as well as his choice of girlfriend, and insists that he leaves. While Annie manages to calm the situation, allowing Michael into the chapel, it’s clear that his being accepted by the community as a changed man won’t be easy; just to make matters worse, his return home yields a worrying discovery. Among Bruce’s correspondence is a notice to quit: the bank is seizing the farm the following day. What does the future hold for Geoff and Annie? The accusedFollowing her attack, Marie is distressed to see Lewis at her bedside as she wakes up in hospital – a fact which doesn’t escape notice. Although Marie’s memory loss has left her in no fit state to respond to any of Jack’s questions, the exchange with Lewis is enough for Sam to realise that there’s more to this situation than meets the eye.And so it is that while Jack conducts several fruitless interviews with witnesses, and Lewis sneaks back into Marie’s room to make sure she remembers his alibi for the night before, Sam does a little detective work of her own. She soon finds out that Lewis has been working at the hospital for months as a paramedic; not only did his arrival coincide with the time the incidents began but he was also working shifts on two of the three nights on which the attacker struck. Is he the culprit?
