‘What would happen if the evidence you got for Rowan somehow showed up?’ Sam asks Jack, who has by now confessed all about his problems at work. Even though Sam’s plan is unlikely to be successful, the alternative of going to McGrath holds little appeal, and before long Jack’s nabbed Rowan’s address from the station and made his way over to his house to search for the drugs. Luck is clearly on his side. He not only manages to find what he needs but also escapes notice as he returns it to the evidence cabinet. It’s not good news for everyone, though. The reappearance of the missing goods leads McGrath to suspect that they were never really gone in the first place, casting doubt on the reliability of his informant, one George Watson. But the cop has another trick up his sleeve. As George produces the photos taken at his daughter’s birthday, McGrath is left to wonder: why is Jack being so friendly with a known criminal?Playing dirtyMeanwhile, Drew has managed to talk Alf into letting him go ahead with a pool competition, the first of many new initiatives designed to pull in the punters at the Surf Club. While the evening starts off as a success, it only takes the appearance of Aden and his mates to see things descend into chaos. With Jack called in to take statements, Alf makes it clear that this will be the first and last of Drew’s ideas to be given the green light. Still, not everyone deems the night a failure; in spite of everything, Tam has set her sights on Aden. Is more trouble on the cards?Bedside mannerElsewhere, Lewis continues to make waves at work, particularly when it comes to his relationship with Rachel. You see, while Rachel can’t help but be lenient with her new squeeze when it comes to his making mistakes, her attitude towards Marie is notably less forgiving, especially when she sees her flirting with one of the patients. Marie’s subsequent attempts at landing Lewis into trouble only serve to make a bad situation worse; the two interns remain on bad terms as they head home for the night, Lewis cancelling his date with Rachel after her asking him to lay off their colleague. Later that night, Belle makes a shocking discovery: Marie has been attacked outside the Surf Club. The first person she runs into when searching for help is Lewis – but is his being there more than coincidence?
