Sam is keen to start looking for a home to buy with Jack but, unaware that he’s secretly wrestling with his conscience over what to do about crooked cop George, can’t understand why he doesn’t share her enthusiasm. Worried about his future, Jack decides to come clean to McGrath, but their conversation never even gets off the ground; desperate to celebrate her bravery award, Fitz interrupts them and invites everyone for drinks. By no coincidence, they end up at George’s favourite haunt, where Jack tries to uncover evidence of the illegal poker game of the night before – only to find that his nemesis is one step ahead of him. Jack having bottled out of his second attempt to talk to McGrath after a heartfelt speech from Fitz, the question remains: will his contacts in the city be able to help him dig the dirt on his mysterious new colleague? The art of seductionLeah is excited over Dan's imminent return from the two-week school excursion he’s been supervising. Colleen having moved heaven and earth – or, more accurately, rescheduled her Film Appreciation Society meeting – to swap shifts, she’s less than willing to grant any more favours when, Dan’s flight having been delayed, Leah asks her to work the evening as well. And as if the disappointment of not being able to meet her husband at the airport wasn’t bad enough, Leah’s then forced to turn people away from the diner due to a power cut. Still, at least the randy electrician called out to help her can offer a word or two of advice about how to surprise her man: having told Dan to meet her at work, she waits until she’s alone before stripping down to just black stockings and her apron. Little does she realise that when he eventually turns up he’ll have a bunch of students in tow...A step too far

Drew can't believe his mother has managed to get her hooks back into Tony and is certain that things would be looking very different had she managed to get hold of the inheritance.

Thankfully, it only takes Jazz’s negative reaction to his suggestion of having dinner with Jack and Sam for Tony to finally see sense; realising that she isn’t in this for the long haul, he walks out on her. Meanwhile, having found out that she tried to poison Belle against him, Drew is also ready to take action.

Taking inspiration from the diner power cut, he and Belle sabotage Jazz's fuse box, plunging her house into darkness. But the plan goes horribly wrong when, while Jazz is sleeping, a fallen candle sets the house alight. Will she survive?
