Sam is still recovering from her close encounter in the hospital car park and is frustrated to find that Jack proves a lesser source of support than shed hoped. You didnt actually see anyone? he asks, presuming that the stress of past experiences may be cause for what he presumes is nothing more than Sams overactive imagination.Unfortunately, however, her fears prove well founded when later that evening another of the hospitals nurses, having tired of waiting for a security escort, falls victim to a brutal attack on the way back to her car. Its Rachel, herself having unwittingly escaped the stalker on her arrival, who makes the grisly discovery and instantly gets Gloria the help she needs but she hasnt failed to spot a frighteningly familiar pattern: once again, the overhead lamp at the scene of the crime has been smashed. Are these attacks really so random? Jack is certainly starting to have his doubts as well as being forced to eat a rather large slice of humble pie in light of his having disregarded Sams warnings. Somebody must have seen him. He obviously doesnt look out of place, Rachel speculates, leaving a shaken Sam to query whether or not an employee might just be the face behind Summer Bays most wanted. Before long the police have made their assessment: theyre now fairly certain that the same offender carried out both attacks. Worse still, they fear hes getting bolder...Morag, P.I.So, once youve divulged whats in the will, just take your cues from me, Jazz tells Dane, having so far managed, for her sons benefit, to put on a convincing display of her grief. But even if Drew has been easily convinced, there are at least two of the Bays residents whove managed to cling on to a healthy amount of scepticism: one being Belle, who recalls Jazz telling her that Drews grandmother had died some time ago; and the other Morag, whos decided to make herself useful in the wake of Brad and Sallys failed wedding by checking that everything else is in order not least her superhuman ability of uncovering even the most well-hidden acts of deceit. And thats exactly what she aims to do when, on a visit to the Surf Club, a loose-lipped Dane drunkenly tells her that hes in the Bay to read a Will for a client trying to swindle her son out of his inheritance. A well-timed trip to the diner the following day sees her fitting the final piece of the puzzle into place (Miss Curtis just found out her mum died, Annie tells Morag, as she looks over at Jazz sympathetically), with Alf later confirming her worst suspicions. Jazz seemed to be the sort of person who was very interested in looking after herself first, second and third, he offers. But I might be being a bit harsh.
We dont think so, and nor does Morag but what will she be able to do about it? One things certain: shes going to have to act fast; as she weighs up her options, Jazz and Drew, fresh from bonding over Jazzs troubled relationship with her apparently tight-fisted mother, have arranged an informal reading of the Will with Dane. Im sorry, Jazz, this may come as a bit of a shock, but youre not actually mentioned in the Will at all, he begins. And before Drew has time to finish defending his mother against her loss of an inheritance, Dane drops the bombshell. She left it to you Drew. Every last cent.
