Hollyoaks has added another star to its roster of actors in the form of Lisa Maxwell, who'll be coming into the show as the mother of Grace Black and the Donovan brothers.
Undergoing a 'make-under' to play Tracey, the character is described as having left Grace and her sister Claire Devine when they were very young in a bid to escape their father, Fraser Black.
Since being left behind, Grace has resented her mother and been forced to follow in her father's footsteps, forging a career of crime and corruption.
However, Tracey's escape meant that she fell into the arms of Mr. Donovan and had three more children - Adam, Jesse and Liam - who all first appeared on screen earlier this year, in April.
Maxwell said of joining the show: "Tracey is a great character to play and it has been terrific fun having a make-under to play her. Let's just say her make-up call is a lot shorter than Grace's!
"Tracey has had a hard life and might at first seem like a bit of a train wreck and burden to her daughter when she arrives in the village, but there is much more to her than meets the eye - as you would expect of Fraser Black's ex-wife.
"Seeing how her return impacts on Grace will be interesting as there's not a lot of love lost between them. Especially as she arrives with a big juicy Donovans secret."
A show source added that whilst Tracey won't be a full-time regular but a returning guest role, she "adds an interesting dynamic to the Donovans. Lisa enjoyed filming and bosses think the audience will love her scenes with Tamara."
