Hollyoaks' John Paul McQueen
In scenes to air next week, 'Hollyoaks' character John Paul McQueen will attempt to get rid of rapist Finn O'Connor from his class.
The Hollyoaks High School teacher, who was the victim of a brutal sexual assault by his student earlier this month, will struggle to cope in upcoming episodes, resulting in his professionalism becoming compromised.
James Sutton - who plays John Paul - said: "John Paul is falling apart, but desperately trying to maintain his professionalism and hold his life together. He's so stressed that he starts to make mistakes at school and he doesn't have any patience for the pupils."
John Paul has been tormented with homophobic abuse at the hands of Finn (Keith Rice) and Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) in recent months and hopes to rid himself of his attacker in scenes to air next week.
James explained: "There's a parents' evening at school and John Paul tries to get a bit of control back by changing Finn's grades from a C to an E so that'll he be moved to a different class."
However, the teacher's sabotage attempts are soon realised by the aggressive Finn.
James added: "Finn finds out and forces him to change the grades back; he has all this power over John Paul since the assault."
And there will be more troubling scenes ahead, according to the actor.
He said: "There are some really nasty, horrible scenes where Finn and Robbie show up to teach JP a lesson."
