Duncan James has joined 'Hollyoaks'.
The Blue singer will portray the character of "grounded family man" Ryan who will move to the village with his family this summer, and the star cannot wait to get started on the Channel 4 soap.
Duncan said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the 'Hollyoaks' team!
"I'm looking forward to working with the fantastic on and off screen talent on the show and bringing the character of Ryan to life."
A 'Hollyoaks' spokesperson said: "Ryan is a good guy in a committed relationship. He is a grounded family man with principles and integrity but who will fight tooth and nail for what he believes in."
While it is not known how long the 38-year-old singer's initial deal is for, Duncan confirmed he is a "full-time" cast member.
He wrote on Twitter: "Thrilled 2 finally announce & confirm I am about 2 start a new chapter in my life as a full time member of the @Hollyoaks cast. Can't wait (sic)"
Duncan is known for his pop singing career with boy band Blue - who are also made up of Antony Costa, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe - and has starred in several West End theatre productions, including 'Legally Blonde' and 'Chicago', and is currently appearing in musical 'Priscilla Queen Of The Desert'.
But it's not the star's first fictional TV appearance. In 2007, Duncan appeared as Billy Flynn in reality TV show 'DanceX' and in 2009 he portrayed Dan Coleman in an episode of police soap 'The Bill', which has now ended.
