Hollyoaks have today announced the casting of Sally St Claire played by Annie Wallace; a new arrival at Hollyoaks High School sent to shake things up and step in as Patrick Blake's (Jeremy Sheffield) replacement.
The formidable head teacher will be seen immediately clashing with current head of the school Patrick when she announces she'll be taking over.
October 7 saw Patrick's health decline, as viewers discovered in April that he was living with motor neurone disease which resulted in him finally this month accepting he needed to use a wheelchair.
Mrs. St Claire will be making her first appearance on the soap later this month.
Chatting about her new role, Annie said: "I'm delighted to be joining Hollyoaks as Mrs. St Claire. She's such a great character and my first couple of scenes with Jeremy really show off her feisty personality - she's a force to be reckoned with. I hope the viewers love her as much as I do."
Though she's a woman married to the job who keeps isolated to maintain a professionalism around the school, she's surprisingly up-to-date on pop culture and isn't afraid to make references they'll understand - "tuck your shirt in! You are not Kanye West!"
Hoping to "seek out the bad apples and make them into crumble", Mrs. St Claire has her eyes everywhere, but is also coming to the village with an ulterior motive...
