Rhys (Andrew Moss) complains to Josh that they never hang out together any more so Josh (Sonny Flood) invites him to Leah's birthday party, where a drunk Rhys causes havoc when he insults Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies).
Zoe (Zoë Lister) discovers that Mike (Tony Hirst) and Sarah (Loui Batley) are both attending the same lecture as her.
Ste's (Kieron Richardson) mum Pauline (Jane Hogarth) arrives unannounced with a birthday present for Leah.
Outraged that he's not allowed to see his own daughter on her birthday, Pauline forces Ste to hot foot it to the Barnes', where she is devastated to discover that Ste is not Leah's father.
