A "mini breakdown" is heading Debbie Dingle's way in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale.
The mechanic - played by Charley Webb - will be arrested for assault in tomorrow night's show (27.03.14) after she lashes out at an innocent man for flirting with her.
However, it all becomes clear that her aggressive behaviour is just a build-up of paranoia and insecurities from her controlling relationship with her killer ex-boyfriend Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).
Charley said: "It's a massive thing for her to be arrested and in this situation I think it freaked her out. I think she's having a mini breakdown and can't quite get to grips with herself like she normally does ... Even when the police come and see her, she's still vacant, it's like she's numb."
Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) steps in and persuades the man to drop the charges against the brunette beauty, which leads to the hunk sharing a smooch with Debbie.
Although, despite her knight-in-shinning armour coming to her rescue and the obvious sparks between the two, Debbie still doesn't feel ready for a relationship.
Charley explained to SoapSquawk: "I'm not sure if she's ever going to be ready to get involved with someone else again. That [her relationship with Cameron] will definitely scar her for life, she'd never really let anyone into her life before ... then she let Cameron in and he screwed her over.
"Now I'm not sure anyone will get in again, but if they do it'll have to take a long time."
