Hilary (Paula Wilcox) ropes Doug (Duncan Preston) into visiting the hospital with her to discover more about Daniels medical history, and a sympathetic Dr Marshall (Howard Gay) agrees to investigate. Later on, Ashley (John Middleton) and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) are stunned when the doctor arrives to say there is an anomaly in Daniels records. Explaining further, Marshall delivers the startling news that Laurel and Daniels blood groups are incompatible, therefore she cannot be his mother. How will Laurel deal with this latest blow to her shattered heart?Meanwhile, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) receives a summons to appear in court for driving without due care and attention. After he takes his anger out on an innocent Jamie (Alex Carter), Chas (Lucy Pargeter) feels forced to warn the vet that unless he curbs his outbursts, hell have no business left, driving ban or not. Can Paddy forget about his personal problems for the sake of the practice?
