Shane (Paul McEwan) visits Donna (Verity Rushworth) claiming he's come to make peace, but ends up threatening her not to make a complaint. Marlon (Mark Charnock) arrives home in time and hurls Shane against a wall, leaving Donna convinced she must go ahead with the complaint. However, Shane warns Ross (Samuel Anderson) that he will take him down with him if he verifies Donna's story. When asked to give his statement, Ross doesn't back Donna up. Donna is left feeling betrayed by Ross and brands him a coward. Will he decide to tell the truth to save Donna and their friendship? Elsewhere, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) visits Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) at the hospital and they enjoy each others company. When Paddy is about to leave, Gennie asks him to visit again, admitting she doesn’t have many friends. Back in the village, Ross offers Paddy a drink as a peace offering but Paddy doesn't accept and tells Ross to stay away. Is their friendship ruined forever?Meanwhile Matthew (Matt Healy) is angry when his slanderous press release fails to make the Hotten Courier so he spreads a rumour that the De Souzas shafted King & Sons over the refuse contract. Val pays Eli £20 to remove the rubbish outside the Woolpack but Donald sees him and offers him cash to do the whole village, so long as he gives De Souzas credit for his good deed.
