David (Matthew Wolfenden) and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) imagine their wealthy future together and become excited when Nicola receives a call from the hospital to say there's been a significant change in Donald's (Michael Jayston) condition. Rushing into the ward, they're disappointed to find him still alive and are further shocked when he reaches out and grabs Nicola's arm. Having come round, Donald claims to remember who Miles (Ayden Callaghan) is but has no recollection of Nicola's existence. Could the reluctant wife's road to riches prove to be rockier than first thought?Meanwhile Diane (Elizabeth Estenson) is jealous when she learns that Mel (Caroline Strong) has been discussing the house sale with Jack (Clive Hornby), leaving her out in the cold with regards to his plans. Concerned that Mel is looking to speed the house sale along as soon as possible, will Diane concede defeat over a future with Jack?Later in the pub, both feeling sorry for themselves, Diane and Gray (Christopher Villiers) drown their sorrows in the Woolpack and lament their losses. When Diane leaves him to take a phone call, a vulnerable Gray sees an opportunity to make a pass at Paul (Mathew Bose). Will Paul respond and complicate matters even further?
