When Lexi (Sally Oliver) starts acting suspiciously around the sofa Carrie (Linda Lusardi) decides to investigate. As Carrie searches she finds the wallet of the dead man hidden down the back of the sofa. Appalled, she throws Lexi out, claiming shes blown her chance. Defiant Lexi gets herself a job behind the bar and declares shes not leaving the village. Elsewhere, Pearl (Meg Johnson) and Lisa (Jane Cox) are amused to see Pollard (Chris Chittell) struggling without their help at the factory. They take it upon themselves to scare off the ringers that Pollard has roped in, leaving him stuck. Lisa reels of a list of their demands including a public apology for his actions. Despite support from the other villagers, Pearl feels badly for denying Lisa her wages.Meanwhile, David (Matthew Wolfenden) is upset by the village reaction to him following Pollards exposure.
Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) takes the opportunity to get under Davids skin and comments that he has no power over his father.
He returns to the factory and laughs at Pollard losing his temporary staff due to Pearl and Lisa.
David pushes Pollard to agree to Pearls demands so they can end the strike at the factory. Will Pollard be swayed?
