A distraught Sam (James Hooton) continues to keep a vigil at his sons side in hospital. A shocked Emily (Kate McGregor) dashes over to the hospital upon hearing the news and is horrified to hear Sam threaten to kill himself if Samson (Bradley Milnes) dies. Her concerned words fall on deaf ears and Sam is a broken man. However when doctors finally reveal that Samson is going to be fine, he and Emily share their joy. Has their shared pain brought them closer together?Meanwhile, Zak (Steve Halliwell) and Lisa (Jane Cox) continue to blame themselves over the suspected meningitis outbreak. When Rosemary (Linda Thorson) later turns up at Dingle Cottage, she is horrified to learn from Chas (Lucy Pargeter) the drama taking place at the hospital. Rosemary rushes to join Zak and Lisa, and they are all relieved to hear that Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is only diagnosed with flu. Touched by Rosemarys obvious affection for their daughter, is Lisa about to reconsider her position over Belles fees?Elsewhere, Jack (Clive Hornby) feels uncomfortable when he offers to take Daz (Luke Tittensor) for dinner in town, only to discover that hes made plans with Billy (David Crellin).
He confides his fears in Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) and later asks Daz if he wants to abandon the adoption. Could Jack be losing in the battle for Dazs affections?
