Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) reacts badly to the news that Billy (David Crellin) and Val (Charlie Hardwick) spent the night together. As Val pries into her sister's bad mood she wrongly assumes it is caused by anxiety over turning sixty. Diane is relieved, though insulted and warns Val to keep quiet. As usual, Val ignores her and later finds posters in the village announcing the big day. Will Diane risk Val knowing the truth to shut her up?Elsewhere, David (Matthew Wolfenden) struggles with his conscience on the day of Pearl's (Meg Johnson) eviction. After delaying the repo men, he sends Pearl for a drink in the café. However, Pearl is horrified when the repo men turn up and begin gossiping about her. She pours scorn on their insults and proceeds to barricade herself inside Jacobs Fold. She is shocked to see Edna (Shirley Stelfox) hadn't left the house but Edna decides to join her former friend's protest. What will Pollard (Chris Chittell) do to combat this rebellion?Also, Jamie (Alex Carter) and Louise's (Louise Appleton) harmless flirting is interrupted by Terry's (Billy Hartman) return. Louise gratefully receives a present from him and their reunion isolates an annoyed Jamie. Is he destined to be alone in the village?
