'EastEnders' have recorded a special scene to air tonight, paying tribute to Nelson Mandela.
The BBC One soap will reflect on the death of the former South African president, who passed away last Thursday December 5, while Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) will discuss their memories of when the leader was released from prison in 1990 after being jailed for 27 years.
A spokesperson for 'EastEnders' said: "'EastEnders' always aims to reflect big news stories and events that strike a chord with our audience.
"Nelson Mandela had such a huge effect on so many people's lives that we felt it was important to reflect the impact his death has had."
This isn't the first time the popular show has woven historical moments into life on Albert Square as they recently marked the birth of Prince George, Andy Murray's Wimbledon win, the death of the Queen Mother and Barack Obama's election as the US president.
