EastEnders' Claudette Hubbard is to clobber Gavin Sullivan over the head later this week.
The busybody matriarch - portrayed by Ellen Thomas - may be left with blood on her hands after she smashes the silver fox bad boy (Paul Nicholas) over the head with a solid candlestick when they lock horns over dirty cash.
A source said: "Claudette would argue that she's acting on her maternal instincts. Gavin is making threats that could rip her family apart if they ever found out the truth, and she had to do whatever is necessary to protect them.
"Gavin is used to being the one who dishes out the pain - but oh, how the tables have turned. Viewers will be on the edge of their seats waiting to find out if she has killed him."
As Claudette frantically works out what to do with Gavin's lifeless body, her son Vincent (Richard Blackwood) returns home to discover his mum's unsightly situation and they come up with a plan - involving a cement mixer, a basement and a few tools - to hide her despicable crime.
The insider added: "What I can say is that Claudette and Vincent's relationship will never be the same again."
But Vincent isn't the only one caught up in the potentially life-sentencing crime as Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) also stumbles upon the stomach-churning situation.
The television spy explained to Inside Soap magazine: "Patrick might not live to regret the fact he ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time."
