EastEnders' Ben Mitchell will be left fighting for his life in hospital after he's involved in a horrific accident.
The bolshie mechanic - portrayed by Harry Reid - has just managed to get his life back on track after dumping Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald), coming out as gay to his alcoholic father Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and striking up a relationship with hairdresser Paul Coker (Jonny Labey).
But his happy ever after looks set to come crashing down later this month when he's caught up in a nasty incident that will leave viewers wondering whether he'll make it out alive.
Ben's shocking accident will no doubt pave the exit for his lover as Paul is set to flee Albert Square in the summer - just over a year after he rocked up to cause mischief in Walford.
Jonny announced he was leaving the soap a few months ago after he landed the lead part in the upcoming play 'Verge of Strife' at the Assembly George Square Studios during the Edinburgh Festival 2016 this August.
A source said recently: "Jonny is leaving in a couple of months as part of an explosive storyline.
"Bosses are keeping tight lipped about what's in store but there's plenty of drama in store for Paul before he leaves."
