Stacey is rushing out of the house when Charlie gives her a card. Mo and Charlie want to know who it is from. Bradley arrives home and sees flowers from Lydia – she’s managed to get time off work later. Bradley’s at the flower stall trying unsuccessfully to find a last minute present. Bradley explains to Max that he’s thinking that perhaps Lydia isn’t the girl for him. Bradley mentions Stacey. Max reminds him of the grief that Stacey used to give him and encourages him to give it a go with Lydia. Bradley returns home to find Dot & Lydia having a cup of tea. Bradley and Lydia are walking to Fargo’s. They pass Stacey who comments about her hangover after spending the afternoon in the Vic with Bradley. Lydia is surprised but Bradley it down. Stacey asks Max if he sent the card she received. Max tells her that it wasn’t from him. In Fargo’s Lydia asks if she can have her present and Bradley has to resort to buying a wilted rose from the flower seller. Bradley’s uncomfortable as Lydia makes plans. He wonders if it is a good idea to have a bit of a break. She storms out. Max is heading home but notices Bradley approaching Stacey. Mo tells Stacey that she thinks her card was from Bradley. Charlie admits it was from him. Bradley tells Charlie that he has split up with Lydia. Charlie talks about knowing when you’ve found the right one, he turns round to find that Bradley has gone. Bradley is banging on the Slater’s door. Bradley shouts to Stacey that he made a mistake with Lydia and that he still loves her and he knows she still loves him. Stacey tells him that it is too late. Stacey stands by her bedroom window. She hears a voice call her name –Max. She heads into his arms for comfort. They both stare at the window wracked with guilt.Ben is giving Phil the silent treatment as he tries to talk about what Ben said about Stella. Phil talks to Max about the kids. Phil tells an unhappy Ben that he is going out with Stella tonight. Phil asks Stella to stay the night.Abi gives Max and Tanya a Valentine card – she doesn’t understand why they don’t celebrate the day. Tanya makes a reservation for dinner – she’ll surprise Max. Tanya tries unsuccessfully to persuade Preeti and Chelsea to baby-sit. Tanya mentions her meal with Max and Dot agrees to baby-sit. Tanya returns home to an answer-phone message from Max saying that he’s got caught up with work but will be home soon. She hears noise from the street and pulls back the curtain.Jim tells Patrick that he is cooking a surprise meal for Dot. Yolande tells Patrick that she may have a surprise for him too if he manages to get rid of Bert and Jay. Bert misunderstands and manages to invite himself to dinner. Patrick finally tells Bert that he wants Jay and him out of the house that evening. Bert isn’t sure what to do with Jay and stops Jay from entering the Trueman’s. Bert gives Jay a tenner and tells him to entertain himself. Dot arrives home and is delighted by Jim’s romantic surprise dinner. The only problem is that she has Abi and Lauren with her. Jay is in the Fowlers eating pizza. He is very cold so he decides to head off. Yolande is feeding Patrick some strawberries – they are appalled when Jay enters.Chelsea persuades Denise to have a make over – she needs the practise. Chelsea and Pat are pleased with themselves, they have a plan to keep Denise occupied today. Chelsea tells Pat that she’ll get Denise to the Vic later too. Denise arrives for her makeover and Dot asks her about Kevin. Denise realises that Chelsea was using the makeover as an excuse to get her to go out. Denise tells Chelsea that she knows Kevin will be back.
