Denise reveals to Pat and Deano that Kevin didn’t come home last night. Pat goes to check Carly’s room. Denise is clearly worried. Pat, Deano and Denise question Carly about Kevin. She denies all knowledge of why he has stayed out all night. Denise and Pat head off to check if he is at the car lot. Pat realises that one of the cars is missing. Deano is sitting on the sofa when he feels something – it is Kevin’s phone vibrating. They realise he’s left his phone. Denise tells Pat they should contact the police but Pat suggests talking to Shirley first. Pat visits Shirley but she doesn’t know anything about Kevin’s disappearance. Deano pushes Carly for information about what happened with Kevin. She gives nothing away telling Deano that Kevin didn’t want to talk after all. Dawn visits Rob – she’s not sure that she can go ahead with his plan. Rob tries to convince her that it is the right thing to do. Rob tells her that he’ll have to rethink things if she doesn’t agree to his plan. May talks to Dawn – she’s worried about her being on her feet all day. May admits to Rob (in front of Dawn) that she has blown a lot of money on shoes. Dawn is fuming. She tells Rob that she is on board – she’ll bleed every last penny out of May.Minty and Garry mock Carly when she turns up late – she snaps at them. Dawn arrives wanting to talk to Carly. Carly tells Dawn that Kevin has disappeared but Dawn is too worried about her own problems. Carly snaps, she shouts at Dawn that she can’t stand liars. Dawn is left humiliated. Carly visits Denise with the intention of telling her about her argument with Kevin but she doesn’t get the chance as Pat interrupts them. Denise blames herself as Carly struggles with her guilt. Denise, Carly and Pat are in the Vic – they don’t want public sympathy over Kevin and so establish that he is simply away on business – Peggy shouldn’t trust anything Shirley says. Meanwhile Shirley flirts with Garry and Minty. Garry and Minty leave Shirley who spots Phil – she sneaks behind the bar after him. Shirley has made it upstairs at the Vic. She tries to proposition Phil who tells her to get lost. He considers phoning Stella but he loses his nerve. Shirley tells Carly, Denise and Pat that she did speak to Kevin, he was boasting about his family. Carly’s guilt grows. Shirley points out to them that it is very easy to stay away once you’ve gone. They are appalled that Shirley could compare Kevin to her. Carly punches Shirley in the face.Mickey and Gus can’t understand why Martin isn’t on his stall after just getting it back. Martin asks for their help – he’s moving back into the Fowler house. Martin, Gus and Mickey start work on the Fowler house – Martin wants to make it somewhere that Rebecca can be comfortable. Ian comes round to the Fowler’s – Martin explains that he is moving back in with Rebecca. Martin considers moving the urn but realises that it should stay on the mantelpiece.

Jim delivers Rebecca home to Martin. Martin is struggling to keep things upbeat with Rebecca as they are surrounded by things that remind him of Pauline. He realises that things just won’t work as they are – his eyes fall on Pauline’s ashes and he makes a decision.
