Kevin tells Denise that he thinks he should cancel his plans for Jimbo’s birthday celebrations – it doesn’t feel appropriate given the circumstances. Denise tells him to talk to Carly and Deano. Kevin suggests to Carly and Deano that they have a quiet meal at home to celebrate Jimbo’s birthday. Deano thinks it is a good idea but Carly isn’t convinced. Deano tells Carly that she’s being selfish with the way she’s treating Kevin. She tells him that she still thinking of leaving. Carly enters the portacabin and offers to help him cook the meal. Kevin is delighted. Kevin sees Shirley on the street and smugly tells her that he’s having a family meal. He thanks her for forcing him to tell the truth as the kids have made their choice now. Deano and Pat leave Carly and Kevin to talk. Carly is awkward as they leave. Kevin and Carly put the final touches to the meal all the while avoiding the one thing they should be talking about. Kevin is looking through old family photographs. Carly snaps, she’s sick of Kevin trying to make out that everything is okay. She screams at Kevin that he lied to her before storming out. Kevin tries to apologise. He suggests that they talk about things. She slams the door in his face. Kevin tries to talk to Carly – he thought that they were all dealing with it. She walks out leaving Kevin completely decimated. Pat and Deano decide to return home. Kevin clears up the mess in the kitchen. He has a moment of realisation, picks up his jacket and heads for the door. Pat and Deano return to an empty house and assume that Carly and Kevin have gone for a drink. Kevin is sitting in a car, sobbing. He picks up his passport and looks at it, reassuring himself that he is making the right decision. Kevin crunches the gears and accelerates away from Albert Square…Peggy suggests Phil takes the rest of Stella’s stuff to her. Ben overhears and leaves – Phil goes after him leaving an exasperated Peggy. Ben is telling Abi that Stella is gone. A smile appears on Ben’s face –they start cutting up Stella’s scarf, they are about to set fire to it when Phil catches them. He is furious and realises that Ben turned the oven up. Ben explodes at Phil and reveals that he hates Stella. Peggy thinks Phil should talk to Stella as she did nothing wrong. Phil tells her there is no point as Ben will never accept her.Martin is with the market inspector trying to get his pitch back. He apologises to Phil for everything that has happened. Dawn watches as Rob and May share a moment. Dawn stops Rob on his way back from the toilet and demands to know why he hasn’t told May. He tells her that he’s got to talk to her about something first. Rob tells Dawn that he thinks he should stay with May until the baby is born for the money. Dawn is shocked at Rob’s suggestion.
