Phil apologises to Stella about her ruined surprise party plans. Phil opens his birthday presents. He is pleased with the shirt from Stella. Ben's present is a kit model of a Jag just like Phil's. Phil is blown away and Stella looks on with jealousy. Peggy tells Phil that Stella went to a lot of trouble organising his party. As Phil heads off Stella enters downbeat telling Peggy she's not sure what Phil sees in her. Peggy suggests they go into town later to get themselves kitted out with some glad rags. Phil returns with Ben's model – it 's broken and he's gutted, assuming he must have knocked it off the fridge. Stella comforts him, deflecting the suspicion and privately relieved. The bar door opens and Stella enters in a short, red, flashy dress with hair, nails and make-up to match. Everyone is gobsmacked – and Stella squirms as she makes her way over to Phil. Everyone toasts Phil just as the car alarm sounds again. Phil kills the car alarm but then suddenly clocks the brick-sized hole in the windscreen. He is startled when he sees who appears from the shadows.Deano wakes, he asks about Shirley and Carly tells him emphatically that she's not coming back. Shirley arrives at the hospital asking the nurses whether anyone is in with Deano. Chelsea is emotional when she speaks to him and explains about calling Shirley. Deano is shocked and Kevin angrily snaps at her. Denise asks whether he's ok – she gets the feeling there's something more going on. When Kevin leaves, Shirley enters and pleads with Deano to hear her out. Shirley is mortified when Deano tells her he came to her flat and saw her with a man. She backs out in shock when Deano tells her to get out. Kevin rushes after and grabs her. A furious Kevin tells Shirley that since she's returned, Deano has been lashing out at everyone – the accidents down to her. Shirley is left shaken. Kevin is aghast as Deano reveals how he went to see Shirley. Carly is shocked to see Shirley standing with Kevin at the hospital but he pacifies her saying that Shirley is here to set things straight before she leaves. Shirley faces Deano as Carly watches on with anger. Shirley tells Deano she didn't want to leave without saying anything. As she turns to go Deano asks her to stay – that's what mothers do…Max offers to take the girls to school but Tanya angrily refuses. Stacey approaches Max in the cafe. Max turns to her in anger and then coldly dismisses her. Stacey is stung. Tanya returns home for lunch where Max has cooked. Tanya can't stay angry and they kiss. Stacey is stung when she spots Max and Tanya arm in arm. She overhears Tanya tell Max about Phil's birthday party that evening.Stacey enters the Vic sexily dressed. Max and Tanya arrive at the Vic as do Bradley and Lydia. Max clocks Stacey looking good and sidles up to her at the bar. Stacey slides past Max, deliberately making contact. Stacey latches on to Bradley and Lydia in a display of friendliness which leaves them both suspicious. Stacey continues to provoke Bradley and Lydia whilst eyeing Max who looks deeply irritated. When she finally oversteps the mark, Lydia suggests that they leave but Max intervenes and suggests that Stacey should be the one to go. Phil interjects and Stacey makes a disparaging comment about Stella, sending her running off. Max shepherds her out of the Vic. Naomi, Garry and Minty put in their offer on the flat. Minty and Garry are dejected to hear from Naomi that another higher bid has been out on the flat. Ben is elated as Minty, Garry et al repair the broken model Jag. Garry and Minty are ecstatic when Naomi tells them their offer on the flat's been accepted.
